Ewa Lipska
Ewa Lipska (Krakow, 1945), is one of the leading contemporary European poets.
She graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts, but opted for poetry. She also wrote prose, dramas, texts for Krakow Cabaret Cellar under Rams (Hearts on Bikes, Krakow, 2004) and texts for rock bands. She did not belong to any literary group, or trends, although the critics classify her in the "New Wave".
Ewa Lipska has been translated into all the world’s major languages. She is a frequent guest of the most famous poets' festivals. She is the winner of the most prestigious Polish and international literary prizes. In the past few years, she has been a serious candidate for the Nobel Prize for literature.
For years she worked in a Krakow publishing house, and she was also in the editorial board of the magazine Letter. After the changes in 1990, she spent ten years in Vienna, as the Director of the Polish Cultural Center and the Cultural Attaché in the Polish Embassy.

Ewa Lipska can be found in all the anthologies of the contemporary Polish poetry.
Her books of poems that have been published in the Serbian language are: Time's Scholarship Winners (1998), I (2004), Somewhere Else (2006), and Newton's Orange (2008).
